THUNDER BAY – NEWS – The Board of Directors for the United Way of Thunder Bay are pleased to announce that Martin Wyant has accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer effective December 3rd, 2018.

Martin has over 30 years of experience in the field of social services.  Originally from Sault Saint Marie, Martin is currently the CEO of the Simon Fraser Student Society.  Before joining the Simon Fraser Student Society Martin was the CEO of SHARE Family and Community Services and prior to that he was the CEO of the Sault Family YMCA. He also has private sector experience as a general manager of a telecom start-up and a company supporting joint manufacturing and business consulting start-ups.  Martin has excellent communication skills and is highly regarded for his strategic leadership, innovation and dedication to community development.

Norm Gale, President of the United Way of Thunder Bay Board of Directors says, “Martin has extensive experience with Board governance and in developing and implementing strategic plans.  We are excited to welcome Martin to the United Way of Thunder Bay as we continue to implement our strategic plan and the roll-out of the Community Impact Plan.  We believe that Martin will continue to build on the foundation of excellence that the United Way of Thunder Bay staff, past and present, have achieved.”
