THUNDER BAY –  The Thunder Bay Police Service received the results of a post-mortem examination of a deceased male located near a walking trail close to Strathcona Golf Course on Wednesday, November 7, 2018.

Police have identified the deceased as being John Boczkowski, 67, of Thunder Bay. The death is not deemed suspicious. As a result, the missing person notice for Boczkowski has been cancelled. Please kindly remove his imagery from your social media accounts and websites.

As this is now a private matter for the family, no further details will be released by the Thunder Bay Police Service in regards to this incident.


Thunder Bay Police are asking for continued support in trying to locate 67-year-old John Boczkowski.

Police report that Mr. Boczkowski has not been seen since he left his residence on Red River Road on October 10, 2018, around 7:00 am.

Efforts to locate him have been unsuccessful and there is a concern for his wellbeing. He is known to frequent the Intercity area including Chapters, Wal-Mart and Superior Shore Gaming.

John Boczkowski is described as a Caucasian male who is 5’10” with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a grey leather sleeved black jacket, black jeans and a striped toque.
