THUNDER BAY – High winds overnight have Thunder Bay Hydro crews working hard to restore power.

This morning there are as of 8:00 am a few areas still without power. About 1500 customers remain without power as crews continue repairs on power lines and equipment damaged by strong winds overnight. Many expected to be restored by morning.

Hydro reports, “South of Red River to John between High and Rockwood power is out due to a tree on the line.”

UPDATE – Whitefish Valley, Crestview and Kakabeka public schools which will be closed today due to power outages will now be open.
