THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – While the City of Thunder Bay is under a weather advisory calling for strong winds overnight, the impact of those winds on Lake Superior is a Gale Warning which is in effect.

The Weather Service says that “Waves one and one half metres building to 2 this evening and to 2 to 3 late overnight. Waves subsiding to one and one-half metres near noon Thursday and to one half to one metre Thursday afternoon.

Environment Canada says a Gale warning in effect. Squall watch in effect.Wind south 20 knots with gusts to 35 near thunderstorms. Wind becoming west 30 this evening with gusts to 35 near thunderstorms. Wind increasing to northwest 40 near midnight then diminishing to northwest 30 Thursday morning. Wind diminishing to northwest 15 Thursday evening.
