THUNDER BAY = Thunder Bay Police report that a quick response by a citizen who called 911 to report a break and enter was in progress at a neighbours residence in the 1900 block of John Street Road around 12:10 this afternoon has resulted in the eventual arrest of four males.

A white minivan with Quebec plates was reported leaving the area and heading into the city.

Plain clothed officers with the Community Services Branch observed the van on Highway 61 and began to follow it as it continued eastbound on Arthur Street. The van pulled into the parking lot of Galaxy Lanes.

Moments later multiple uniformed patrol officers arrived and the occupants of the van fled. Officers pursued the suspects and all were taken into custody in the area.

The four Toronto area males have been escorted to the Balmoral Police Station and have been charged with Break and Enter, and Possession of Stolen Property and Resist Arrest. They will appear in court tomorrow.

This investigation is ongoing.
