12:09 PM EDT Thursday 20 September 2018
Special weather statement in effect for:

  • City of Thunder Bay

Rain is forecast to move into portions of Northern Ontario near Lake Superior this evening and persist well into Friday as a strong low-pressure system passes east of the area. At this point, it appears that rainfall amounts of 30 to 40 mm are likely along the western and northern shores of Lake Superior.

Higher rainfall amounts are expected for areas farther to the east where rainfall warnings are in effect. However, a westward shift of the track of the low may bring higher amounts farther west.

The area is being monitored for potential rainfall warnings.
