Thunder Bay Fire Rescue Knocks Down Riverside Drive Fire

THUNDER BAY – At approximately 03:00 am Thunder Bay Fire Rescue was dispatched to the report of a structural fire in the 300 block of Riverside Drive.

First arriving crews observed heavy smoke and fire from the second-floor window which had already been blown out by the heat. All occupants were accounted for and crews then began immediate fire attack from the exterior and progressed into the interior quickly preventing fire spread, and bringing the fire under control in short order.

One occupant sustained burns and was transported to Thunder Bay Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A total of 5 pumpers, aerial ladder, and command unit responded manned by a total of twenty-two personnel.
