Sioux Lookout OPP Arrest Winnipeg Man for Trafficking and Mischief

SIOUX LOOKOUT – On Friday, September 14, 2018, at approximately 6:27 am, members of the Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a report of a male breaking into vehicles in the Seventh Avenue area of Sioux Lookout.

Upon arrest for mischief, the male was searched and a bag of a crystallized substance suspected to be methamphetamine was located. Once at the police station, a further 60 additional bags, and 5 wrapped pieces of plastic were found containing the same substance, with an estimated $4,000 street value.

As a result of this investigation, Tyler MITCHELL (19) of Winnipeg, MB has been charged with;

  • Mischief under $5,000 contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code.
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA).
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to section 145(3) of the Criminal Code.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on September 14, 2018.
