THUNDER BAY – NEWS – On Wednesday, Thunder Bay Police received multiple calls of an erratic driver traveling at a high rate of speed and into oncoming traffic on West Arthur Street at approximately 2:00 pm.

An off-duty officer was able to stop the vehicle and arrested the male driver. The officer was assisted by other citizens until a patrol officer arrived at the location of Mountdale Avenue and Arthur Street.

The 57-year-old male driver has been charged with Operate while Impaired, Operate with over 80 mg of Alcohol and Dangerous Operation – Motor Vehicle. His vehicle was towed by police.

The driver was later released on a promise to appear with a future court date.
