KENORA – WEATHER – Environment Canada has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of Northwestern Ontario

Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for:
- Kenora – Grassy Narrows – Whitedog
- Sachigo Lake – Bearskin Lake
- Sandy Lake – Weagamow Lake – Deer Lake
At 5:33 p.m. CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.
Severe thunderstorms near Bearskin Lake and southward through Muskrat Dam will remain hazardous over the next hour. The main threat is torrential rain of 50 millimetres or more in less than one hour.
Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!
Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
