THUNDER BAY – Today, Uber Eats is officially launching in 30 new cities and towns across Canada. Using the app Canadians can get the food they love from their favourite local restaurants and national brands delivered.

Starting today, you can order the meals you’re craving from several Thunder Bay restaurants with just a tap on the Uber Eats app, and have them delivered right to your door.

That means your work-day lunch, afternoon snack, and foolproof dinner with friends are all at your fingertips.

“Launching in these 30 new cities supports our efforts to bring food delivery to more Canadians through the Uber Eats platform,” said Dan Park, General Manager, Uber Eats Canada. “Canadians want to be able to enjoy food in a way that fits their lifestyle. As the world’s fastest growing meal delivery service, we are expanding in order to meet those demands with the convenience of reliable delivery.”

Today’s announcement marks the largest single-day Uber Eats launch nationally, and is part of Uber Eats’ ongoing commitment to be in 100 Canadian cities and towns by the end of 2018. This latest expansion includes towns and cities from coast-to-coast, including Thunder Bay, Halifax, Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon and surrounding cities in Vancouver.

Globally, Uber Eats first launched in Canada (Toronto) in 2015 as the company’s initial test market. Since then, Uber Eats in Canada has grown to more than 8,000 restaurants on the platform and has created flexible earning opportunities for more than 10,000 delivery partners.

Using the Uber Eats app millions of people in more than 35 countries globally have had meals delivered. Partnering restaurants can tap into the Uber delivery network to expand their businesses by reaching a new network of potential customers. The launch of Uber Eats in these communities also presents flexible earning opportunities for delivery partners.
