Impaired Charges Follow OPP Traffic Stop

OPP have laid a number of charges in a stolen vehicle investigation

THUNDER BAY – OPP CRIME REPORT – The Ontario Provincial Police, Thunder Bay Detachment report that on July 26, 2018, at approximately8:39 pm, an officer was on patrol on Highway 11/17 at the John Street intersection when the officer observed an erratic driver.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and while speaking with the driver, the officer determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further tests.

Jean JOHNSON, 58 years of age, from Gorham Township, was arrested and charged with:

-Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code,

-Operate a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

She is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on October 2, 2018, to answer to the charges.
