THUNDER BAY – At 03:03 am, on July 25, 2018, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue Service received an alarm for a structural fire at 166 Juniper Drive. First arriving units encountered a garage that was fully involved on fire that was located in close proximity to the residence and a large travel trailer. The homeowner informed firefighting crews that all occupants were out of the residence and accounted for. 45 mm attack lines were advanced to the fire area where water was applied to the garage knocking down the fire in that area quickly. It was evident to attack crews at that time that the spread of the fire to the eaves and open bedroom windows in the main residence had occurred. Fire Crews quickly brought the blaze under control with substantial damage to the structures with radiant heat damage to the travel trailer.

6 Pumper units attended the scene with 26 firefighters in attendance. No injuries were sustained in the blaze. The investigation into the cause is still under investigation.
