ATIKOKAN – On the 11th of June 2018 at approximately 3:07 PM, members of the Atikokan detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of threats that had occurred in the Town of Atikokan. Further, officers were provided with information that a break and enter had occurred at a residence in Atikokan. Members of the Atikokan OPP detachment commenced an investigation into the break and enter and threats and it is ongoing. As a result of the investigation, a male from Atikokan has been arrested and charged with criminal offences.
Jacob JOHNSON, a 21-year-old man from Fort Frances, has been charged with the following offences:
- Uttering Threats contrary to Cause Death or Bodily Harm contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code,
- Break, Enter Dwelling House, Commit Indictable Offence contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code,
- Mischief Under $5000 contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code,
- Mischief Over $5000 contrary to section 430(3) of the Criminal Code.
