Atikokan OPP Make Arrest in June 11/18 Break and Enter

ATIKOKAN – On the 11th of June 2018 at approximately 3:07 PM, members of the Atikokan detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of threats that had occurred in the Town of Atikokan. Further, officers were provided with information that a break and enter had occurred at a residence in Atikokan. Members of the Atikokan OPP detachment commenced an investigation into the break and enter and threats and it is ongoing. As a result of the investigation, a male from Atikokan has been arrested and charged with criminal offences.

Jacob JOHNSON, a 21-year-old man from Fort Frances, has been charged with the following offences:

  1. Uttering Threats contrary to Cause Death or Bodily Harm contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code,
  2. Break, Enter Dwelling House, Commit Indictable Offence contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code,
  3. Mischief Under $5000 contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code,
  4. Mischief Over $5000 contrary to section 430(3) of the Criminal Code.
