THUNDER BAY – Day STARTER – It is Friday, June 22nd, 2018, heading into the first official weekend of summer. There are heat warnings in effect for the western regions of Northwestern Ontario. The alerts, issued by Environment Canada include Kenora, Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Fort Frances, Red Lake, Ear Falls, Savant Lake, Mine Centre, and Lac Seul. (Read more)

For Thunder Bay, we can expect a mix of sun and cloud today with a high-temperature forecast of 23°C. Winds will become southeast 20 km/h this afternoon. The UV index will be 9 or very high. Keep the sunscreen handy.

Gas Up for Less

The price of a litre of gas is reported at $1.499 in Terrace Bay. Honestly put, at these prices, the costs of many necessities are going to go up too. Fuel prices across the western parts of Ontario range from $1.389 in Dryden, to $1.399 at the Husky on Chipman Street in Kenora,  In Thunder Bay, the lowest price in the city is $1.356 at the Macs on Hodder Avenue. Out on the Fort William First Nation, gas prices are at $1.249 at THP.
