Dear friends and fellow business owners,

I am trying to help Shelter House raise funding for a new SOS van. To my surprise, it has been much more difficult to get local businesses to participate for various reasons. The Shelter House is doing important work and trying to keep our town clean and trouble-free. I am sure there are many ways to achieve this goal but at least they are doing something in the right direction. I couldn’t find a used vehicle on my own that fit the original budget.

Shelter House has raised already over $25,000 from donations from local unions, unanimous donors and other and even some other business owners, to my surprise very few local businesses have made the effort to donate even as little as $500. I am writing this mass email as a request that we as local business owners, managers, accountants do our part for our community and ensure that the weak, homeless, and addicted don’t struggle through their problems alone. I know many people believe that success is the result of hardship, but this vehicle can give people that one push in the right direction to a better future.

I am requesting that anyone who can, and I am sure everyone here can, it is hard for me to believe none of us can, wouldn’t donate. PLEASE donate to the Thunder Bay Shelter house to the attention of Amber through your business, Amber will provide a tax receipt, so you can claim:

Even small amounts like 200, 300, 500 dollars from each business owner will add up to the required shortfall for a SOS van they are trying to purchase. I believe the Shelter house needs to raise another $20,000. I am sure Shelter house would be grateful and offer the business community some positive exposure and credit. We as business owners still have a responsibility to try to help as much as we can, especially since we earn our living from the local economy. Regardless of our political views, we all understand that the provincial governments have the obligation to do much of this work in return for the taxes we pay, but obviously, it hasn’t. Let’s send the proper, positive message that Thunder Bay can count on the local business community to part take when needed. The positive press can’t hurt especially during provincial elections.

Please review the letter authorizing me to solicit donations on behave of Shelter House, and for those generous donors, there is a possibility of placing a logo on the SOS van in gratitude of helping as a donor or sponsor.

Even though Kasper Transportation is a young growing company, we still have many of our own debts to pay and expansion to finance, will make a $500 donation and I hope my fellow businesses will be able to part take and follow suit. Please email other contacts in your business network and spread this request as much as possible.  Please make the donations to Shelter House directly.

Thank you!
