Details: The City of Thunder Bay is working to create a concept plan that will help guide the future development of North Neebing Park, and is looking for resident input. An input-gathering session will take place in collaboration with a Neebing Ward Meeting.

The City of Thunder Bay is celebrating National Youth Arts Week with a Youth Arts Showcase, presented by Ontario Power Generation, from May 1 to May 5 at the Kinsmen Centre on James Street.

Come see the work of local youth artists at the Youth Art Show opening on May 1 from 4:30 pm to 6 pm. The Art Show can also be viewed all week from 3:30 pm to 9 pm. Hear talented local youth musicians at the Youth Music Showcase on Friday, May 4from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. Prizewinners for the Art Show’s Juried Prize and People’s Choice Award will be announced at the Music Showcase.

This is a free, outdoor community Music Showcase that will feature Visual Past, Ben Murray (aka PlanBStrike9) and DJ Rawlins. Youth, parents and Youth Advocates are invited to attend the Art Show and Music Showcase to celebrate these talented local youth.

Road Closures

Starting Monday, April 30, a section of Balmoral Street, located between John Street and Oliver Road, will be closed to through traffic for about three weeks for storm sewer construction.

Local traffic will be allowed at each end of the construction site.

Motorists are asked to use extra caution and to obey all posted signage.

Gas Up for Less

The price of a litre of gas is actually the same across Northwestern Ontario. Fuel prices across the region range from $1.399 in Dryden, to $1.399 at the Husky on Chipman Street in Kenora,  In Thunder Bay, the lowest price in the city is $1399 at the Esso on Red River Road.  Out on the Fort William First Nation, gas prices are at $1.247 at THP.
