Kenora OPP have New Detachment Commander

KENORA – The Kenora Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment now has a new confirmed Detachment Commander. North West Regional Commander Dave LUCAS is pleased to announce Inspector Jeffrey DUGGAN as the successful applicant. Jeff has been acting in the position of Detachment Commander since March 9th, 2018 but his official transfer date is May 7, 2018.

Jeff has been with the OPP for seventeen years and started his career in 1998 in the cadet program.

He was hired as a Constable in 2002 and posted to Grassy Narrows. He has also spent time in the crime unit as a Detective Constable from 2004 to 2010. In 2010 he was promoted to Detective Sergeant in Dryden. In 2012 he was transferred back to Kenora as a Detective Sergeant. In 2016 he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant at the Kenora Detachment in charge of operations.

Jeff is a resident of Kenora and he has spent his entire career in the Northwest Region where he calls home.

“We will continue to strengthen our communities and work in collaboration with our policing partners to enhance community safety and well-being in the Kenora area. I look forward to the opportunities that will be presented to me. I look forward to serving the residents of Kenora where I have always called home and the Ontario Provincial Police in my new role as the Kenora Detachment Commander,” says OPP Inspector Jeffrey Duggan.
