THUNDER BAY – “Unlock the Potential of Food” is the theme of this year’s nutrition month which takes place throughout March across Canada.
Registered Dietitians are regulated health professionals who are passionate about food and the many ways it can contribute to good health. In Thunder Bay, dietitians want to encourage people to think about food and the potential it can have for them. Various activities have been planned to help citizens realize the potential of food to fuel, discover, prevent, heal and bring us together.
To encourage children to get involved in the kitchen and have fun with food, dietitians are hosting a recipe contest for children under age 17. The contest runs from March 1 to 25. The winner will receive a gift basket and have their recipe featured in an online cookbook.
Local dietitians will also be hosting several fun and educational booths in various locations in Thunder Bay during March Break (March 12 to 16) that will feature healthy recipes, information and provide an opportunity to speak with registered dietitians about questions you may have.
