Arrests Made in Dryden Beer Store Robbery and Stolen Truck

DRYDEN – CRIME – The Dryden Police Service have arrested two male young offenders in the Break and Enter that occurred at the Beer Store on the evening of February 26, 2018. The Youth Criminal Justice Act protects the identity of anyone under the age of 18 years old, who commits criminal offences. The accused are a 15-year-male and a 14-year-old male, both from Dryden.

They each face charges of Break and Enter and Commit Theft, Theft Under $5000 and both have additional charges of Failing to Comply with Court Orders.

The same two accused along with an additional 14-year-old male from Dryden then stole a truck parked on Queen Street on February 27, 2017, and fled to the Kenora area, where the truck was found abandoned. The 15-year-old and 14-year-old accused face additional charges of Theft Over $5000 for the theft of the truck.

The two were returned to Dryden overnight by police and are currently in custody pending a bail hearing.

The third 14-year-old male has been charged with Theft Over $5000 in relation to the theft of the truck. He was returned to Dryden and was released on a Promise to Appear.

Names of the accused cannot be released under federal legislation.
