Aggravated Assault Charges Follow Incident Downtown North

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched the area of Red River Road and Cumberland Street at approximately 12:30 am early this morning to assist a male who was bleeding.

Officers arrived to find three citizens tending to a male that had been assaulted and was in need of medical attention.

The 30-year-old male was taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center by ambulance.

Information gathered by individuals in the area lead the officers to find the suspect responsible for the assault at the Shoreline Hotel. He was arrested and escorted to the Balmoral Police Station.

Christopher Daniel Kakegamic, 27 years old has been charged with Aggravated Assault. He appeared in court this morning and has been remanded into custody.
