THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – The Special Weather Statement for Thunder Bay remains in effect. Environment Canada says that up to 15 cm of snow is expected by later today. As of 03:30 am snow has started falling in Thunder Bay.
Special weather statement in effect for:
- City of Thunder Bay
10 to 15 centimetres of snow expected on Friday.
The weather service says “A low-pressure system will spread snow into the region overnight into early Friday morning. Total snowfall amounts between 10 and 15 centimetres are expected. Snow will taper off to a few flurries Friday afternoon into early evening.
Snowfall amounts are expected to be below the warning criteria of 15 centimetres per 12 hours. This is why there has been no storm warning or snowfall warning issued.
Highway and road conditions, both in the city and east of Thunder Bay will be winter driving conditions at best. Caution and care is advised.
