Kenora OPP Investigating Bomb Threat

KENORA – The Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a bomb threat that was called into a local building.

On Thursday, February 8, 2018 at approximately 12:59 pm, the Kenora OPP were called to a building in Kenora’s downtown area to respond to a bomb threat. Police learned that a male walked into the building and stated there was a bomb in the building, the male then left without providing any further details. Police and Kenora Fire and Emergency Services responded and conducted a search of the building and nothing was found.

Police would like to remind the public that a threat of this nature is not only an offence under the criminal code it also ties up several emergency services that are needed to respond to other emergency calls for service.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call the OPP or Crime Stoppers.

The investigation is continuing.
