Thunder Bay – WEATHER – The City of Thunder Bay is surrounded by Extreme Cold Alerts issued by Environment Canada. The weather for Saturday is calling for sunny conditions.

For Thunder Bay the high today is forecast at -19c. This morning with the wind chill it will feel like -37c, but by afternoon it will only feel like it is -28c.

Across the region, temperatures are colder this morning.

Extreme Cold Warnings are in effect for:

  • Dryden – Vermilion Bay
  • Kenora
  • Sioux Lookout – Savant Lake – Pickle Lake
  • Ignace – English River
  • Ear Falls – Perrault Falls – Western Lac Seul
  • Red Lake – Woodland Caribou Park
  • Fort Frances – Emo – Rainy River
  • Atikokan
  • Raith –Upsala
  • Armstrong
  • Beardmore – Jellicoe – Gull Bay FN
  • Geraldton
  • Manitowadge

Across these areas, periods of very cold wind chills are expected.

Wind chill values near or below minus 40 are expected this morning.

Environment Canada says that “Wind chill values are expected to moderate through the day of Saturday. However, near minus 40 wind chill values could reach again in many areas overnight tonight into Sunday morning”.
