Drug Warrants Executed Resulting in Multiple Arrests and Seizures

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police Intelligence Unit was very active last week executing multiple drug warrants that lead to the arrest of three males and seizure of money and drugs.

Incident: P17075871 – Bay Street

An investigation began in September 2017 by the Intelligence Unit about individuals responsible for the distribution of cocaine at the Royalton Hotel on Bay Street. As a result of this investigation, a search warrant was conducted in November 2017 on a storage locker at a self-storage business in town. Inside the unit, investigators located prescription pills, marijuana and crack cocaine and cash.

This finding led to several search warrants being executed and the arrest of 36-year-old Dwayne Brown of Waterloo, Ontario in a hotel room at the Econo Lodge Hotel on Memorial Ave on the evening of December 14, 2017. The search of his hotel room, a rental car, and the storage locker resulted in the seizure of over $50,000 in drug and over $4,000 in cash. Dwayne Brown has been charged with Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 and Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence.

Officers also attend the Thunder Bay International Airport and met a male who came off of a flight from Toronto. A search of this male resulted in the seizure of cocaine valued at over $90,000. 27-year-old Navado Frazer of Toronto has been charged with Possession of Drugs for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 and Identity Fraud.

Both males appeared in court and were remanded into custody. Investigation continues.

Incident P17075649 – Cameron Street

At 4:50 a.m. on December 13, 2017, a Search warrant was executed by the TBPS Intelligence Unit with the support of the Emergency Task Unit into an apartment of a multi-residential dwelling on the 200 block of Cameron Street.

Once entry was made a male was located and arrested. Officers located crack cocaine valued at $22,000, over $12,000 in cash and a BB Handgun as a result of the search of the residence.

William Escoffery, 25 years old of Brampton has been charged with Possession of Drugs for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 and Breach of Probation.

He appeared in court and was remanded into custody.
