For the ultimate Instagram though, there are some really impressive heights in Europe, offering views that you would never believe real. Eiffel Tower, France
This landmark is hardly unheard of, but there’s an obvious reason for that. Besides its remarkable architecture, the views at the very top of the Eiffel Tower are unbelievable. Whilst there are lifts in the tower, the best experience is from walking up yourself. Yes, this seems utterly laborious, but by walking yourself, you get to really appreciate the views and take your time absorbing them all. At the top of the Eiffel Tower, you’ll be able to see Paris in a completely new light, seeing the impressive buildings and park space from above. Monte Rosa, Alps, Switzerland
This is a bit more of a strenuous trip, especially considering the sub-zero temperature, but boy is it worth it when you reach the peak of the Alps. Now that Christmas is on the horizon, and winter is just on our tails, what better a time to walk along the icy, snowy mountain range than now? The Monte Rosa is 4,634m high, making it the second highest mountain in the Alps. Therefore, by witnessing the stunning views at the top of this mountain, not only are you having a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but you’re also challenging yourself and doing something exciting that you might not usually do!
St Mark’s Campanile, Venice, Italy
Venice is one of the most romantic cities in the world, but why not top this off with some breath-taking views at the top of St Mark’s Campanile? Of course, Venice is well-known for the tranquil canals that flow through the city, so by climbing to the very top of St Mark’s Campanile, you can bear witness to such an incredible feature. The building itself stretches 98.6 metres high, with an unbeatable 360 degrees view of the bespoke city. We recommend picking a sunny, clear day, as you should even be able to see the Alps on the horizon when at the top of this landmark!
Hohensalzburg Castle, Austria
Visiting these unmissable heights doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to miss out on other charming aspects of the European country – take Hohensalzburg Castle for example. This landmark is one of the largest medieval structures left in Europe, with views including a peaceful landscape of Festungsberg, offering idyllic scenery that almost looks like it’s out of a fairy tale. Of course, the best views will only be achievable if you pay for entry into the castle, but you are able to climb the hill it’s perched on and still witness some incredible landscapes. Either way, it should definitely be on your list of Europe’s unmissable heights.
