Ice Fisherman Missing in Ear Falls Area

RED LAKE – The Red Lake/Ear Falls Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a male who was reported missing after heading out ice fishing on November 19, 2017.

On November 20, 2017, officers responded to a report of a 64-year-old missing male from the Ear Falls area. Friends who had commenced a search for the male located a hole in the ice on Pakwash Lake, along with a snowmachine helmet and jacket.

The OPP Northwest Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP Aviation Services – Helicopter Unit and Lake of the Woods Search and Rescue (LOWSAR) are currently involved in the search effort.
