Death of Barbara Kentner Results in Murder Charges
THUNDER BAY – CRIME – The death of thirty-four-year-old Barbara Kentner has resulted in charges of Second Degree Murder.
Eighteen-year-old Brayden BUSHBY of Thunder Bay has been charged with Second Degree Murder – CC 235(1) in connection with the death.
Barbara Kentner was, according to earlier reports hit with a trailer hitch thrown from a vehicle. Bushby is the alleged attacker.
Kentner did not die immediately but passed away months later. Today, the charges were upgraded from Aggravated Assault to Murder.
BUSHBY had been originally charged with Aggravated Assault on February 4, 2017, following an investigation by the TBPS into the alleged assault against Barbara KENTNER on January 28, 2017.
Following Barbara’s death on July 4, 2017, the Crown Attorney reviewed circumstances surrounding her death with the Regional Coroner’s Office and the TBPS Criminal Investigations Branch. That review resulted in the upgrade of the charge against Brayden BUSHBY.
Thunder Bay Police report that BUSHBY surrendered himself to police on the morning of November 3, 2017, and was subsequently charged. He will appear in Superior Court this afternoon.
None of the charges have been proven in court.
