THUNDER BAY – LU SPORTS – The Lakehead Thunderwolves will be on the road this weekend to battle the Waterloo Warriors at the Columbia Ice Field, with game times set for 7:00 PM Friday and 4:00 PM Saturday.

The Matchup

Lakehead: OUA record: 0-3-1 (2-5-1 overall)

Waterloo: OUA record: 3-1-0 (4-4-0 overall)

Recent Results

Lakehead dropped a pair of home games to the UQTR Patriotes last weekend, falling 3-1 on Friday and 4-1 on Saturday night.

Waterloo took both games on a road trip to Northeastern Ontario last weekend, defeating Laurentian 6-2 last Friday, followed by a 4-2 victory at Nipissing the following evening.

Series History

Lakehead has the edge in the all-time series versus Waterloo with a record of 34-23-2 against the Warriors.

The two teams split the most recent meeting between them in Waterloo last February. Lakehead won the Friday contest 4-3, with the Warriors taking the Saturday rematch 2-1.

Injury Report

Lakehead has three forwards out of the line-up.   Freshman Josh Laframboise will be out indefinitely with a wrist injury, and junior Billy Jenkins (ankle) could be out for a month. Junior Matt Alexander (shoulder) will likely remain out for a couple of weeks.

About the Warriors

Waterloo has a balanced scoring attack, and forwards Daniel Perigo, Keigan Goetz, Zac Coulter, Nick Halagian and Michael Siddall are all offensive threats.

Rearguards Mike Moffat and Eric Diodati are mainstays on defence.

In goal, returning starter Mike Moffat is the incumbent, but he could be pushed by freshman Trevor Martin for playing time this season.
