OPP Traffic Stop Results in Impaired Driving Charge

Thunder Bay Police laid impaired driving charges

THUNDER BAY – The OPP are reporting that on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at approximately 4:00 pm, an officer from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol on Highway 11/17 in the Municipality of Shuniah.

The officer conducted a traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act infraction. While speaking with the driver, the officer determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further tests.

Kyle KASPER, 29 years of age, from Fort Frances, ON was arrested and charged with Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mgs contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

He was also charged with Driving While Under Suspension and Speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on December 5, 2017, to answer to the charge.

None of the charges have been proven in court.
