Seine River Man Charged with Dangerous Driving

OPP have laid a number of charges in a stolen vehicle investigation

FORT FRANCES – NEWS – On October 11, 2017, at 8:30 p.m. officers of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were alerted to a stolen motor vehicle from the Town of Fort Frances. OPP and Treaty Three Police Service began to patrol the area in an effort to locate the suspect vehicle.

Subsequently, the vehicle was located in the Town of Fort Frances, as officers initiated a traffic stop, the suspect vehicle fled from police. A short pursuit ensued; with public safety in mind, the pursuit was discontinued.

The motor vehicle was located east of Fort Frances and a tire deflation device (spike belt) was successfully deployed. Officers arrested the lone male driver.

As a result of the investigation Zachary Oscar Henry JIM (22-years old) of Seine River First Nation, Ontario has been charged with:

  • Dangerous Driving
  • Flight from Police
  • Possession of Stolen Property
  • Weapons Dangerous to the Public

As well as numerous Highway Traffic Act infractions.

Zachery JIM was held in custody and will appear in Fort Frances Criminal Court on October 12, 2017.
