Three Charged Following Traffic Stop on Neebing Avenue

THUNDER BAY  – On Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at approximately 11:21 am, an officer from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol and conducted a traffic stop on Neebing Avenue in the City of Thunder Bay.

During the traffic stop, the investigation revealed that the plates on the vehicle were stolen from another vehicle and also, the vehicle was stolen from British Columbia.

All of the occupants of the vehicle were arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code.

Raymond LEGARDE, 32 years of age, from Fort William First Nation was arrested and charged with the following offences:

-Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a),

-Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to section 733.1(1) x 2,

-Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to section 145(3).

He was held in custody for a video court appearance.

Robert LEGARDE, 29 years of age, from Fort William First Nation was arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a).

Macenna GUTHRIE, 21 years of age, from Chilliwack, British Columbia was arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a).

Lorissa BRIZARD, 27 years of age, from Fort William First Nation was arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a).

They are to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on December 5, 2017, to answer to their charges.
