Arrest Made in Latest Limbrick Assault

THUNDER BAY – A twenty-three-year-old male who was taken to hospital after a serious assault around 3:20 p.m. on October 1, 2017, in the 500 block of North James Street remains in serious condition. Investigators have been in contact with his family.

The Thunder Bay Police Criminal Investigations Branch with the assistance of the public have now identified all individuals seen in the released surveillance photos.

As a result, members of the Intelligent Unit located one of the suspects just after 7:00 p.m. on October 3, 2017, in the Limbrick Street area.

Twenty-five-year-old Sheldon Dennis Oombash was arrested and appeared in court this morning on Aggravated Assault charges.

He has been remanded into custody.

The Thunder Bay Police wish to thank the public for their on-going assistance in providing information aiding the investigation.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
