OPP Recover Firearms Stolen in Break and Enter

FORT FRANCES – Members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a break and enter to a King’s Highway residence resulting in the theft of firearms.

An investigation involving the Northwest Region Crime Management team, Emergency Response Team (ERT), and Forensic Identification Services (FIS) was conducted.

As a result of the investigation the following people have been charged:

Damien Corbo (33) of LaVallee with:

  • 1 count of produce marihuana contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA);
  • 2 counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime;
  • 2 counts of Careless Storage of a Firearm; and
  • 2 counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm contrary to the Criminal Code.

Dennis Lee Mutz (30) of Fort Frances with:

  • 3 counts of possession of a controlled substance contrary to CDSA;
  • 1 count of break& enter and steal a firearm;
  • 1 count of break & enter commit indictable offence;
  • 1 Count of failure to comply with recognizance; and
  • 1 count of utter threats to cause death or bodily harm contrary to the Criminal Code.

Jason Rose (26) of Fort Frances with:

  •   1 count of break & enter and steal a firearm; and
  • 1 count of break & enter commit indictable offence contrary to the criminal code.

Deidre Jarvis (37) of Fort Frances with:

  •    1 count of break & enter and steal a firearm;
  • 1 count of break & enter commit indictable offence; and
  • 1 count of failure to comply with undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code
