Arrest made in Murder of Brayden Moonias

THUNDER BAY – An arrest has been made in the murder of Brayden Moonias as well as in the assault of a fifty-two year old man. Thunder Bay Police state that the August 6th homicide and the assault weree linked, and the same person was responsible for both crimes.

Brayden MOONIAS’ body was discovered in the area of Marina Park and McVicar Creek on the morning of August 6, 2017 on the shore of Lake Superior. A short time later, an injured male was discovered in the vicinity Cumberland Street North and Marina Park Drive.

Police report that a twenty-two-year-old Thunder Bay man has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault and two charges of Failure to Comply with a Recognizance.

The accused has a first appearance in court on September 20th.

His name cannot be released before that his court appearance.
