THUNDER BAY – ENERGY – Union Gas, today provided a $1,000 grant to Lakehead Region Conservation Authority (LRCA), which will help fund needed infrastructure repairs at Hazelwood Lake Conservation Area.
The improvements, which include the replacement of a dock, the upgrade of steps leading to it and grading of an approach path will make it easier and safer for visitors including school groups to enjoy the area’s many natural attributes.
“At Union Gas, the energy we deliver comes from nature, so we understand the importance of conservation,” said Nick Klip, district manager Northwest, Union Gas. “That’s why we’re pleased to help LRCA maintain local conservation lands, which offer outstanding outdoor recreation and conservation education opportunities for area residents.”
“The LRCA is very grateful for this generous contribution from Union Gas, which will help visitors safely access Hazelwood Lake,” said Donna Blunt, chair, LRCA. “We very much appreciate having such a valuable community partner.”
