Kenora OPP Charge Five with Drug Related Charges

KENORA –  Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the Kenora OPP Community Street Crime Unit and the Organized Crime and Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) have charged five people with drug related charges.

On Friday, September 1, 2017, shortly before 4:30 am, police responded to a report that there were people unlawfully in a residence in the north end of Kenora.

Police attended and located four people in the residence. Further investigation determined that there was illegal drug use at the residence and all four people were arrested at the scene. Police searched the suspects and immediate area and located suspect cocaine. Another female was located nearby and arrested in connection to the incident. The residence was held and a search warrant was executed in the afternoon of September 1, 2017. Police located a total of over 8 grams of cocaine, Canadian Currency and other items associated with the drug trafficking trade. The street value of the drugs is estimated to be just over $800.00.

As a result of the investigation, police have charged the following individuals;

Jason KEJICK, 27 yrs. old, of Kenora has been charged with;

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Cocaine contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA).
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance-Cocaine s.4 (1) CDSA.
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 section 354(1) Criminal Code (CC)

He is scheduled to attend court on October 12, 2017 to answer to the charge.

Heaven-Lee MCLEOD, 20 yrs. old, of Kenora has been charged with;

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Cocaine contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA).
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance-Cocaine s.4 (1) CDSA.
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 section 354(1) Criminal Code (CC).

She is scheduled to attend court on October 12, 2017 to answer to the charge.

Shane TOM, 24 yrs old, of Naotkamegwanning First Nation has been charged with;

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance-Cocaine s.4 (1) CDSA.
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance (2 counts) s. 145(3) CC.
  • Personation with Intent to Avoid Arrest, Prosecution or Obstruct Justice (Identity Fraud) s.403(1)(d) CC

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Taniesha KENT, 20 yrs old, of Kenora has been charged with;

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance-Cocaine s.4 (1) CDSA.

She is scheduled to attend court on October 12, 2017 to answer to the charge.

Shawn CORRIGAN, 22 yrs old, of Sioux Narrows has been charged with;

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance-Cocaine s.4 (1) CDSA.

He is scheduled to attend court on October 12, 2017 to answer to the charge.
