THUNDER BAY – At approximately 11:25 AM Sunday morning, Thunder Bay Fire & Rescue was contacted by a civilian that a sailboat had lost contact with its mooring and was on the shore up against the rocks and sustaining damage due to high wind conditions on Lake Superior.

Pumper 5 arrived and found a 25 foot sailboat that required immediate action.

Captain Kerley from Pumper 5 assumed Command and with the assistance of Pumper 3 and 5 crew members the vessel was taken off the rocks, boarded, started and delivered to a safe location. The owner showed up at the end and was very pleased.
