Kenora OPP Seek Missing Male

KENORA – Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Kenora Detachment Marine and Trails Unit (MTU) are investigating a missing man on the Winnipeg River.

On Sunday, August 20, 2017, at 9:30 pm OPP were notified that a twenty-seven-year-old Kenora man was missing on the Winnipeg River. Police learned that the man and two women were in a canoe together when it capsized in an area of current. The women both made it to shore and called for assistance. Police and civilian boats searched for the man but he was not located.

The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit is enroute to Kenora to assist with the investigation.

The investigation is continuing.
