Parking Lot Accident Leads to Mother Sent to Hospital

THUNDER BAY – There have been a number of accidents in Thunder Bay recently involving pedestrians or cyclists.

Thunder Bay Police uniformed officers were dispatched to an auto-pedestrian collision in the parking lot of the Metro Store on River Street at 3:00PM EDT yesterday afternoon.

A eighty-six-year-old male driver was parking in the lot when he struck a thirty-eight-year-old female with two children aged 5 & 6 years old.

The mother of two was pinned between two cars.

Several pedestrians rendered assistance until emergency responders arrived.

The mother was taken to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for medical attention as was the driver of the vehicle.

The TBPS Traffic Unit arrived on scene to complete a thorough investigation. A number of witnesses have been spoken to.

No charges have been laid at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
