OPP Charge Eleven in Longlac Drug Sting

LONGLAC – NEWS – Police in Longlac Ontario have made a major drug bust which has resulted in eleven people facing charges. One suspect in the drug operation as of this report remains at large.

The Ontario Provincial Police made the arrests as a part of an investigation into the trafficking of methamphetamine in and around the municipality of Greenstone.

A total of fifty-six charges were laid against nine people from Longlac and two other from Kapaskasking, ranging in age from 28 to 57.

The OPP report that approximately $16,000 worth of methamphetamine, cocaine, cannabis and Ritalin were seized in the raids.

As well about $1,500 in cash along with three firearms were also seized by police.

 On July 27, 2017, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) with the assistance of the Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau (POIB), members of the Community Street Crime Unit and members of the Greenstone Detachment have charged 10 individuals with 54 drug related offences.

The charges stem from an investigation which focused on individuals trafficking methamphetamine in and around the community of Greenstone. The investigation concluded with the execution of four search warrants and the arrest of 10 individuals.

Seized during the investigation were methamphetamine, cocaine, cannabis and Ritalin. The street value of the drugs seized is approximately $16,000. Also seized was $1505 in Canadian currency and three firearms.
