Arrests Made in Double Homicide in Thunder Bay

THUNDER BAY – An pair of arrests have been made in what Thunder Bay Police are calling a double homicide. The arrests were made by the Sioux Lookout OPP.

The investigation into the Deaths of Robert Gray and Kory Campbell has lead to the arrest of two individuals..

Thunder Bay Police received information that the two accused persons were in Sioux Lookout. Investigators contacted Sioux Lookout OPP who were able to arrest these individuals without incident, at approximately 11:30 EST, 02 July 2017.They were transported back to Thunder Bay and have appeared before court via video today.

Garnet Loon, 41 years and Kailee Loon 19 years of age have been charged with second degree murder.Both accused are from Thunder Bay and have ties to other communities in Northwestern Ontario.They have been remanded in custody to a future date.

The accused persons were known to the victims.The Criminal Investigation Branch continues to follow up with information received and the Forensics Identification Unit is examining the crime scene.The post mortem examinations are still pending.

Since this matter is now before the courts , the police will only be able to provide limited information regarding this case
