THUNDER BAY – NEWS – At 00:40 Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to the report of a structural fire on City Road on the Fort William First Nation. The first arriving officer reported a building fully engulfed in flames. Two other trucks arrived shortly behind him and the fire was quickly brought under control.

The building was a large storage shed and it was completely destroyed. The flames impinged on nearby electrical transmission lines and damaged them causing a power outage to neighboring residences and businesses. Thunder Bay Hydro was asked to attend and their crews are in the process of making repairs at the time of this media release.

There were no injuries to report with regard to this fire. The cause has yet to be determined. Three pumper trucks with a total of 13 fire fighters responded to this alarm.
