Ontario Coroner Confirms Josiah Begg was Body in McIntyre River

THUNDER BAY – The worst fears of the family and friends of Josiah Begg were confirmed today.

The Thunder Bay Police Service Criminal Investigation Branch were contacted this afternoon by the Chief Coroner of Ontario who confirmed that the male found deceased in the McIntyre River was fourteen-year-old Josiah Begg.

Josiah’s family had been previously advised of these results by the Coroner.

The Thunder Bay Police are asking anyone with information relating to Josiah’s disappearance and death to come forward and contact the police at 684-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.tipsubmit.com.

The TBPS continue to assist the Coroner’s Office to investigate this incident and are limited in making public comments in this investigation since this is now a matter for OIPRD.
