Gas Meter Break on Cumberland was repaired by Union Gas
THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Today at approximately 07:50AM EDT Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to the report of a broken gas meter at the corner of Cumberland and Lorne streets.

On arrival they found a meter broken off and gas emitting from the open line. They immediately blocked off Cumberland Street to prevent any possible ignition. The crew quickly assessed the break and was able to close off the line as the break was above the valve. Union Gas attended to make repairs and Cumberland Street is now open.

The initial report was that a piece of equipment working on Lorne Street had struck the meter causing the break.
