DULUTH – Old Man Winter seems very unwilling to let go of Winter 2017.
The National Weather Service in Duluth reports that the “Northland will likely get a reminder of how it can still snow in Minnesota and Wisconsin in the month of May. A potent area of low pressure will develop in the Southern Plains over this weekend, and lift towards the Upper Midwest Sunday.
“Expect rain to spread into the Northland late Sunday or Sunday night, and much of northeast Minnesota will likely see a transition to snow Sunday night and early Monday. In fact, it is increasingly looking like some areas could get several inches or more of snowfall, including from the Brainerd Lakes region to the Iron Range. Snow or no snow, this storm system will bring widespread rainfall of 0.50” to near 1.5”, with the most in northwest Wisconsin”.
For Northern Ontario, the forecast for early in the week is calling for snow as well. However temperatures are all forecast to be above freezing so the likelihood is for rain hopefully rather than snow.
