THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – There is a special weather statement issued by Environment Canada. The Freezing Rain warning has ended, but the weather service is still calling for snow and the potential of up to five more centimetres of the last season white stuff by Friday.
The forecast is calling for warmer temperatures heading into the weekend. It is hard to tell at this point if that will reduce the city’s efforts in clearing the snow and ice over the weekend.
Special weather statement in effect for:
- City of Thunder Bay
Snow, mixed at times with ice pellets, will continue tonight, with additional 5 cm snow possible by Friday morning.
Poor winter driving conditions are expected tonight. Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination.
Snow will become light and more intermittent on Friday as the low pressure system responsible for this late season snowfall tracks northward from Lake Superior to Hudson Bay.
