Suspect in Macs Store Hold Up Nabbed by Police

Mac'sTHUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police responded to a 911 call which was received at 5:18AM EDT on April 22nd, 2017 about a robbery that had just occurred at the Mac’s Convenience Store on Cumberland Street.

The store clerk advised TPBS officers that a male had entered the store and used a knife to threaten him and left with a small quantity of cash.

Officers responding to the call observed a male matching the suspect’s description and apprehended him on the railway tracks a short distance away. He was arrested and escorted to the Balmoral Police station.

Cody Beardy, a twenty-one-year-old male has been charged with Robbery, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, and Breach of Probation and Breach of Recognizance. Cody Beardy was remanded to the district jail.
