A significant late season snowfall event is appearing more likely for today and tonight.

Snow is expected to develop today across portions of northwestern Ontario and become heavy at times this afternoon and evening. Snowfall accumulations of 15 to 20 cm are likely by Tuesday morning. Gusty northeast winds to 50 km/h will produce some blowing snow as well.

There is also a risk of some freezing rain in some areas.

This snowfall warning may need to be expanded to include other regions as additional information becomes available.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
