Thunder Bay, ON – UPDATE – Effective May 1st, 2017, Wasaya will offer non-stop flights to Winnipeg, Manitoba from Sioux Lookout, Ontario with through service from Thunder Bay.
“We heard loud and clear, our guests and corporate accounts want a Winnipeg connection. After researching the market, we realized there is a market opportunity here” said Michael Rodyniuk, President and Chief Executive Officer of Wasaya. “With the introduction of our flights to Winnipeg from Sioux Lookout, Wasaya will connect convenient, cost effective air transportation to all the communities we serve.”
Flights to Winnipeg will operate Monday through Friday, connecting all communities Wasaya serves through Sioux Lookout. Flights will be operated with Beechcraft 1900D twin- turbine powered aircraft.
Wasaya Airways in Winnipeg will be flying into the main terminal at the James Richardson International Airport.
A spokesperson for Wasaya says that the addition to the flight schedule will not impact flights into Wasaya Airway’s owner communities.
